Private Education Act / Edutrust Scheme
Established under the Private Education Act, the Committee for Private Education (CPE) is a statutory board empowered with the legislative power to regulate the private education sector. In addition to its role as the sectorial regulator of private education institutions, the Committee facilitates capability development efforts to uplift standards in the local private education industry.
Under the Private Education Act, the Committee for Private Education will implement two schemes: a mandatory Enhanced Registration Framework (ERF) and a voluntary quality assurance scheme, called EduTrust.
A Transfer is when a student transfers from one course to another within the same College. Upon transferring, the Student Contract of the previous course is terminated and a new Student Contract is executed. For student pass holders, his/her current student pass will be cancelled. A new student pass will be approved and issued by ICA.
A Withdrawal is when a student terminates the student contract (before expiry) with the College and ceases to be a student of the College. Upon withdrawal, the Student Contract is terminated. For student pass holders, his/her student pass will be terminated accordingly and he/she will have to leave Singapore within the time period stipulated by ICA.
The refund for paid Fees is applicable based on the TEG-Standard Student Contract.
Deferment is a situation whereby a student is unable to attend, continue or accept a course. Deferment refers to a student’s request to delay his/her study of the course to a later period. Student will stop attending lessons, assessments and programme related activities during the approved period of deferment.
Suspension and Expulsion Policy and Procedures
The Suspension and Expulsion Policy and Procedures are to outline the process for any students suspended or expelled from a course or unit of study at TEG. They also provides for the administration of suspension and expulsion.
