Pearson BTEC Level 3 90-credit Diploma in Engineering is designed to provide a highly specialist, work-related qualification in a range of vocational sectors. It gives learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare for employment. The qualification accredits the achievement for courses and programmes of study for full-time or part-time learners in the college. The qualification provides career development opportunities for those already in work, and progression opportunities to higher education, degree and professional development programmes within the same or related areas of study, within universities and other institutions.
To allow learners to develop the core specialist knowledge, understanding, including Health and Safety in the Engineering Workplace and a choice of either Mechanical Principles and Applications or Electrical and Electronic Principles, required by the sector;
To allow learners to develop practical and technical skills in mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering, required by the sector;
To encourage learners to consider personal development for occupational roles;
To allow learners to apply generic skills such as communication skill, problem solving skill, and teamwork;
To help people to become occupationally ready to take up employment in the Engineering sector at the appropriate level.

International Students (ICA student pass holder) must attend a minimum of 90% of scheduled course hours at all time. A minimum attendance of 75% must be achieved for local students (Singaporean, PR, Employment Pass, SPass and work permit holders etc.) who are not holding student pass. Students whose attendance is below 90% (ICA Student Pass holder) and 75% (local students) are not eligible to submit the assignment or sit for the examination.
A student who is absent or considered to be absent from class/session, must provide documentary proof i.e. Original Medical Certificate issued by a General Practitioner, Polyclinic or Hospital to his/her Course Administrator immediately on his/her return to school.
Graduation Requirements and Progression
Students are required to pass 9 modules/units of Pearson BTEC Level 3 90-credit Diploma in Engineering. Successful students can progress into the first year of Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma at TEG International College.
